The wePilot4RMAX is a flight control system for Yamaha's RMAX helicopter family. It is simply plugged into the existing YACS avionics and connects redundantly to the YACS receiver board and the YACS backplane board. A GPS antenna, a magnetometer and a data-link are the only devices to be mounted externally on the helicopter airframe. This minimal weight addition preserves the full payload capacity of the RMAX helicopter. The wePilot4RMAX uses the underlying Yamaha Attitude Control System (YACS) and adds velocity and position control features based on GPS.

Pilots can control the RMAX helicopter in traditional Manual/YACS Mode or in Assisted Mode (speed commands from the RC transmitter or the ground control station).

Furthermore, a waypoint guidance package allows automatic take-off, pre-programmed flight trajectory tracking and automatic landing with engine shut-down.

weControl has considerable amount of experience with Yamaha RMAX helicopters. Our autopilot system has been integrated in several RMAX machines around the world for applications ranging from research test bench over precision pesticide spraying to aerial photography with automated and synchronized camera control.

wePilot2000 - A flight control system for unmanned fixed-wing aircraft

Lire la suite... The wePilot2000 is a flight control system for small unmanned aircraft. It consists of an embedded computer system, a GPS receiver, accelerometers and rate gyros for all three axes, a barometer, and an externally connectable magnetometer. The combination of the GPS/Inertial navigation and the robust flight controller design provides attitude stabilization, velocity control, and waypoint navigation.

A derivative of the wePilot2000 is currently being integrated into a large-series production of a small fixed-wing surveillance UAV.

The wePilot2000 supports semi-automatic take-off through hand or bungee rope launch as well as automatic landing. The autopilot system has four flight modes:
  • In manual mode the flight control system is bypassed and thereceiver directly controls the servos. The pilot has full manualcontrol over the aircraft.
  • In assisted mode the aircraft is controlled by high-level heading rate, climb rate, and airspeed commands.
  • Mission mode allows to fly preprogrammed flight trajectories based on waypoints in a fully automatic way. Missions can be interrupted and changed during flight.
  • In home mode the aircraft interrupts its current mission and flies back to a predefined home waypoint.

Lire la suite... The wePilot1000 is a flight control system for small unmanned helicopters. It consists of an embedded computer system, a GPS receiver, accelerometers and rate gyros for all three axes, a barometer, and an externally connectable magnetometer. The combination of the GPS/Inertial navigation and the robust flight controller design provides attitude stabilization, velocity control for cruise, and position control for hover.

Built-in fault detection mechanisms warn the operator of malfunctions, and emergency procedures like automatic return to homebase provide additional levels of safety. A general purpose I/O interface allows control of custom payload equipment like automatic camera shutter triggering.

The wePilot1000 allows fully automatic take-off and automatic landing. It has four flight modes:

  • In manual mode the flight control system is by passed and the RC receiver directly controls the servos. The pilot has full manual control over the aircraft.
  • In assisted mode the aircraft is controlled with velocity commands from a joystick or the RC transmitter. The pitch/roll stick becomes the forward/ lateral speed command, the collective/tail stick becomes the vertical speed/turn rate command.
  • Mission mode allows to fly preprogrammed flight trajectories based on waypoints in a fully automatic way. Missions can be interrupted and changed during flight.
  • In home mode the aircraft interrupts its current mission and flies back to a predefined home waypoint.

The wePilot1000 was specifically designed for advanced small helicopter applications where small size, light weight, low power consumption, and high-performance are essential requirements.
